I had a complicated relationship with my grandmother but the memories of summers spent at my grandparents’ home in Virginia are still some of my favorite from my childhood. This is looking out over the foothills, towards the Blue Ridge Mountains from their property. It looks different now, as the land has been developed. Luckily, it still remains as lush and as green as ever in my memory.
